Create tasks

The creation of tasks and sub- tasks in PSOhub can be done from a task board but also from My Task (under menu Task Board - see further down below).

When in your task board, to create a task simply click Add Task

And complete the following fields:

  • Task title: Enter the name of your task.
Note: The task name must not contain the apostrophe character (').

  • Description: you can specify here a description for your task.

  • Set as milestone: you will only check this box if you want to create a milestone.

  • Task list: This field is mandatory. You have 3 options here:

    1. If you have created your task board based on a task board template, PSOhub will display by default the first task list of that template. You can use the drop down arrow to change it if necessary.

    2. If you haven't created your task board based on a task board template, you can create a task list directly from here by clicking "Add task list". Keep in mind however that this task list will not be related to any contract line and, as such, will not allow you to book time on it.

    3. If you haven't created your task board based on a task board template, and still want to leverage the contract lines of this project as a base for your task list (which will also allow you to book time on the tasks). you will first need to go back to the Contract tab and check the box "Add as task list to tasks" (then hit Save) for each contract line you want to use as a task list.

  • Start date: Enter here the starting date of your task.

  • Duration (days): You can enter a number of days here and PSOhub will automatically calculate the due date. You can also leave this field blank and define a due date in the next field; PSOhub will automatically calculate the duration in days.

  • Due date: If you have entered a duration in the previous field, PSOhub will automatically populate this field. If you haven't entered a duration in days, you will want to enter an end date here.

The next field will allow you to assign this task to one or multiple people.

  • If your task board is related to a project: In order to select one or multiple member(s) however you must first have defined the team members of this project (tab Team).

  • If your task board is not related to a project, you will be able to assign right away a task to one or multiple user(s) within your whole organization in PSOhub.

The next fields will allow you to:

  • Priority: set the level of priority of this task.

  • Status: By default this task will be set to the status To do. Once your project is started the project member(s) assigned to this task will update it until it is completed.

  • Check List: This section will allow you to create sub-tasks for this task.
To do so simply click the field Add item and type the name of this sub-task.
Then hit Enter to add another sub-task. Once you are done, you can check the box Show on card which will display the sub-tasks on the task card which will facilitate marking these sub-tasks as completed.

To open the last section of the task, click the arrow of Notes & Files.

  • Notes: You can enter a note here at any given time of the project; once you do, simply click Post note to save the note and the name of the person as well as the date will appear under the note.

  • Files: You can attach files to this task.

Once you are done with the creation of this task, you can hit Save & New to create another one or hit Save to close the window.

Create tasks from My Task

Navigate to the menu Task board and use the drop down arrow to select My Tasks.

When in the My Tasks, click Add task.

PSOhub will open the New Task window.

  • Task title: Enter the name of the task.
Note: The task name must not contain the apostrophe character (').

  • Project / Task board: Use the dropdown arrow to select the Project or the Task Board (if your task board is not related to a project) for which you want to add this task.

  • Task List: Select the task list where this new task belong.

From here, complete the fields as with any other task.
