A basic project manager with no access to any financials can create and modify their projects and plan resources. He/she will also have access to the Project dashboard as well as the Personal dashboard.

To prevent a project manager from having access to financials, the user settings can be configured as shown below:

The project manager role is selected as the Access level but note the two options below it concerning the financials. Make sure that both check boxes are unchecked to block all financial data from being visible, including the Cost rate. Then, click the Save button.

Note: if a person with access level of Project Manager with no access to any financials is added as a team member on a project, this person will NOT be able to modify the project (as would the actual project manager of the project).

When the project manager signs in, the main menu bar is restricted to only the Projects, Tasks and Time & Expenses modules. They will have no access to the organizational settings:

The Projects module

Contract view

In the Projects module, the project manager will see their own projects but without any financial information. In the Projects overview, the user will only see the project's Planned, Used and Remaining hours as well as the health Alert status:

When a project is selected, the project's contract is displayed with its contract lines confirming the Budgeted, Planned, Used and Remaining hours (Delta Budget and Delta Planned) only:

Resource Planning

The project manager will have access to plan resources and budgeting for project they own using the Budget Grid and Resource Planning. With the project manager's basic access, he/she will see the planned resources without their selling rate and the number of hours planned. Not the value of the hours:

The Tasks module

In the Tasks module, the project manager will be able to assign tasks to resources and/or business units, see their own tasks as well as all tasks, plans and Gantt charts for projects he/she own.

Task Management

The project manager will have an overview of their assigned tasks and grouped into categories:

  • Overdue

  • Due Today

  • Upcoming

  • Unplanned

  • Completed

My Tasks

The project manager will see all tasks assigned to him/her and grouped into the categories:

  • Overdue

  • Due Today

  • Upcoming

  • Unplanned

  • Completed

Plans

When the project manager clicks on Plans, he/she will have access to all plans for projects they own as well as those they are assigned to:

Timeline view

The Timeline view will show all projects owned by the project manager that have been marked as a favourite. Here, the project manager can expand the plans and zoom in on the timelines for an overview of the projects progress:

All Tasks view

When the project manager clicks on All Tasks, he/she will have access to all tasks for projects owned and projects where they're a team member:

The Time & Expenses module

In the Time & Expenses module, the project manager will be able to log their own time and expenses and book absence. They can also log hours on their resources behalf.

Dashboards

This project manager will only have access to their Personal Dashboard when clicking on the PSOHUB logo.
