Approving hours in a project management solution is crucial for ensuring accurate tracking of work, managing budgets, and maintaining transparency. It helps verify that the time spent on tasks aligns with project goals, prevents unauthorized work, and supports effective resource allocation. This process also ensures that project timelines and costs are controlled, leading to successful project delivery.

Two levels of approval for hours

In PSOhub, there are two levels of approval of hours:

  • Project Manager approval

    • Users with project manager access level and defined as a project manager (primary or back up) in a project will be able to execute the approval of hours booked towards this project.

  • Team Lead approval

    • Users with access level Controller or Admin and defined as a team lead in their business unit will be able to execute the approval of hours of all the resources of this business unit.

If you have set up your organization with approval of hours, you will only be able to invoice these hours once they are approved.

You can decide to have only one level of approval or both levels of approval. If you choose both levels:

  • The project manager approval needs to be completed before team lead approval.

  • Only hours with both levels of approval will be available for invoicing.

  • Only when hours have been approved by the team lead will the time entries become locked.

The activation of the approval of hours is defined in the Business unit settings of your organization.
