Backup Project Managers in PSOhub
With the latest release of PSOhub, you can now assign Backup Project Managers to your projects. Previously only a single Project Manager could be assigned to oversee each project, but now secondary project manager(s) can be assigned to your projects to provide further support.
This guide will walk you through setting up a Backup Project Manager and provide a detailed explanation of their role and responsibilities within a PSOhub project.
Access levels
The Backup Project Manager function is only available to users with the following access levels:

Administrator
-
Controller
-
Project Manager (with Cost Rate)
-
Project Manager (excluding Cost Rate)
-
Project Manager Basic
In the Team tab of the project, users with these access levels will display a checkbox option in the Backup PM column. Only users with the required access level can be assigned as Backup Project Managers.
Assign a backup project manager to a project
To assign a Backup Project Manager to a project:

In your project, navigate to the Team tab

Locate the Team Member(s) you wish to assign as a Backup Project Manager. Team Members who have the appropriate access level will appear with an empty checkbox under the Backup PM column.

After clicking their name, a window will appear on the right-hand side of the screen, you'll see an option for Backup PM

Tick the checkbox beside Backup PM and click Save.
Backup project manager capabilities
Once assigned to a project as a Backup Project Manager, the user has the same permissions and access as the primary Project Manager, including the ability to:

Edit project details, such as Project Name, Project Type, Start and Finish Dates, Company, Contact and Invoicing Settings

Add Team Members to the project

Plan hours for Team Members using Resource Planning

Set up a plan for the project, along with task lists and tasks

Access Task Management for the project

Plan hours for Team Members using Task Effort

Book time entries on behalf of other Team Members

Book expense entries on behalf of other Team Members
For administrators, controllers, project managers with full access and project managers without cost rate (excluding Project Manager Basic users):

Set up financials for the project, including a Detailed Budget and applying budget templates (excluding users with Project Manager Basic users)

View Project Planning

View the Project Cockpit report

View the project on the Project Dashboard

Raise invoices for the project
