Learn how to define plan stages, kanban lanes, and plan numbers
Published 30 June 2025
Plan settings enable you to:
- Create, modify or delete plan stages
- Create, modify or delete Kanban lanes
Define the naming convention of your plans.
To access the Plan Settings, click the Gear icon on the menu bar:
In the left-hand side menu, navigate to Module Settings and Plan Settings:
Plan stages tab
This tab indicates the status of your plan. By default, PSOhub uses two stages: Active and Closed. PSOhub also allows you to create custom stages to match your organization's project workflow. For example, Proposal, On-hold, Cancelled, Presales. They help your team and organization track whether a plan is in the proposal phase, actively being worked on, or completed and closed.
Default Plan Stages
1. Active
Once a project plan is approved, it moves to the Active stage. This indicates that project work is officially underway.
When to use Active Stage:
- The project has been approved or signed off
- Tasks are being executed
- Time can be tracked, and resources can be allocated
- Invoicing or billing (if applicable) can begin.
2. Closed
When a project is completed or no further work is required, it should be set to Closed.
When to use Closed Stage:
- All tasks and deliverables have been completed
- Final invoicing has been processed
- The project is archived for reference.
Kanban lanes tab
Kanban lanes are visual columns that represent the different stages of work within your project. Each lane represents a specific status or phase that a task can be in.
Default Kanban Lanes:
- To Do – Tasks that have been created but not yet started
- Work in Progress – Tasks that are currently being worked on
- Reviewing – Tasks that require review or approval
- Done – Completed tasks
You can customize lane names to reflect your project or business workflow. For example, you could add lanes like Blocked or Client Feedback.
Plan number tab
Plan numbers are unique identifiers assigned to each project plan. They help you easily track, organize, and reference your project plans throughout the system.
When you create a new project plan, a plan number is automatically generated. You have the ability to customize the default plan number's prefix and follow number, or you can manually modify the plan number directly in the plan.
Plan numbers appear in the All Plans overview, lists, and reports for quick identification:
