Workload Sheet: 3 important things to know!
Three important things to know if you worked with the Workload Sheet prior to the release of the new Resource Planning module and budget grid.
1.The workload sheet is replaced with Resource Planning and Budget tab.
The button Budget & Workload has been removed.
It has been replaced with two distinct features: Budget tab and Resource Planning button.
Resource Planning is where you will find your previous workload sheet data. Projects existing prior to this release, will initially only show the month view. You will be prompted to convert the hours to the week and day views when you access them.
If your workload sheet had hours planned in the Total column (and not planned in specific months), PSOhub will not be able to distribute them (since it won't know in what month) however it will allow you to enter the number of hours directly in the months column. Be aware that as soon as you enter a value in a specific month, it will automatically overwrite the value in the Total column.
Additional notes:
If the role of your pre-existing planned hours is displayed without a rate, simply open the record and hit save again. This will trigger the rate to be displayed.
Once a resource has been assigned to a line, you will no longer be able to change it; you will need to delete it instead and create a new line with a different resource if the initial selection was incorrect or is changed.
2. Workload sheet templates are no longer available, instead you will want to create budget template.
You will create your budget via the Budget tab. Here you can build your budget manually or leverage budget templates (Settings of PSOhub). Once you are done, you can update the Resource Planning of your project as well as the Amount and Budget fields of your contract lines.
Resource Planning (as the name entails) is where you will plan hours for your resources. The initial structure can be generated via the project's budget where the budget lines will create planned line and the budgeted hours displayed as your baseline for when you start planning your resources.
Or you can create your resource planning by manually adding contract lines.
3.You will be able to push the task effort to the Resource Planning of your projects; however, in this first release, the hours will be pushed at the month view level only.
