Objective
This article explains two scenarios for connecting business units to financial software in PSOhub: connecting multiple business units to a single financial system, and connecting individual business units to separate financial systems.
Prerequisites
You must have Admin user access in PSOhub.
Your business unit structure must be finalized before connecting any financial software. See How to set up a business unit in PSOhub for details.
Scenario 1: Connect Multiple Business Units to One Financial Software
Use this approach when your organization has multiple business units but uses a single financial system for all of them.
Step 1: Enable financial inheritance on the top-level business unit
- Click the Gear icon in the main menu to open Settings.
- Navigate to Organization.
- Go to the Business Units tab. Click the business unit at the very top of your structure.
- Check the Inherit financials to child business units box.
- Click Save and close the window.
Step 2: Connect the financial integration
- Navigate to Settings > Integrations.
- Go to the Business Unit Apps tab.
- In the sub-menu, select the business unit at the top of your structure. It is identified with the label (Master) next to its name.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your financial software.
📌 Note: Only the top-level (Master) business unit can be selected when Inherit financials to child business units is enabled. Clicking any other business unit in the sub-menu will display a message preventing the connection.
Step 3: Confirm the integration
- Navigate back to Settings > Business Units.
- Click the top-level business unit.
- Confirm the financial integration is displayed in the unit's properties. The integration is now inherited by all child business units automatically.
Scenario 2: Connect Individual Business Units to Separate Financial Software
Use this approach when different business units in your organization use different financial systems.
Step 1: Disable financial inheritance on the top-level business unit
- Click the Gear icon in the main menu to open Settings.
- Click on Organization. Navigate to the Business Units tab.
- Click the business unit at the very top of your structure.
- Uncheck the Inherit financials to child business units box.
- Click Save and close the window.
Step 2: Connect each business unit to its financial software
- Navigate to Settings > Integrations.
- In the sub-menu of the Business Unit Apps tab, select the business unit you want to connect.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the financial software for that business unit.
- Navigate back to Settings > Organization > Business Units and open the business unit you just connected.
- Confirm the integration is displayed in the unit's properties.
- If child business units under this unit will use the same financial software, check the Inherit financials to child business units box and click Save.
Step 3: Repeat for all remaining business units
-
Repeat Step 2 for each business unit that needs to connect to a different financial software.
Result
Each business unit is connected to the correct financial software. When Inherit financials to child business units is enabled on a business unit, all its child units automatically inherit the same financial integration. When disabled, each unit can be independently connected to a different system.
