Objective
Understand what multi-organizations are, how the Master and child structure works, and how data, users, and integrations are kept separate across organizations in PSOhub.
Introduction
If your business operates as multiple legal entities or brands, PSOhub's multi-organization feature lets you manage each one independently — within a single PSOhub account.
Each organization has its own projects, financials, users, and integrations. Data from one organization is not visible to users in another, which means you can maintain a clear separation between companies without managing separate PSOhub subscriptions.
⚠️ Important: Multi-organizations require the Enterprise license plan. If you are on a lower-tier plan, this feature will not be available.
The Master and child structure
When you first register with PSOhub, your account becomes the Master organization. This is your primary company — the one that holds the license and from which all other organizations are created and managed.
Any additional organization you create is called a child organization. Child organizations sit beneath the Master and are fully independent in terms of data and configuration, but they are created and administered from the Master account.
📌 Note: Only Super Admins can navigate between the Master and all child organizations. Standard Admin users and all other user roles are scoped to a single organization and cannot switch between them.
What is separated across organizations
Each organization in PSOhub operates as a self-contained environment. The following are kept fully separate:
- Projects and financials — project data, contracts, budgets, and invoices are organization-specific and not shared or visible across organizations.
- Users — a user can only belong to one organization at a time. A unique email address is required per organization.
- Settings and configuration — roles, billing rates, contract templates, invoice settings, tax categories, and expense categories are all configured independently per organization. When creating a child organization, you can choose to copy settings from the Master to save time.
- CRM and accounting integrations — each organization must be connected to its own CRM and accounting system. A single HubSpot or Xero account cannot be shared between organizations.
- Currency and time zone — child organizations can operate in a different currency and time zone from the Master, making the feature suited to international business structures.
Switching between organizations
A Super Admin can switch between the Master and any child organization by clicking on their profile and hovering over the organization name. A side menu appears with all available organizations listed.
Switching organizations changes the full context of PSOhub — projects, users, financials, and settings all reflect the selected organization. There is no cross-organization reporting or shared dashboard.
Users and multi-organization access
Because a user can only belong to one organization at a time, managing people across multiple organizations requires careful planning.
If a team member needs access to more than one organization, they must have a unique email address for each organization. For example, jane@company-a.com in the Master and jane@company-b.com in a child organization.
If you need to move an existing user from one organization to another, this involves deactivating their current account and re-inviting them with the correct email address for the target organization.
When to use multi-organizations
Multi-organizations are well suited to businesses that:
- Operate multiple legal entities or brands with separate financial reporting requirements
- Need to prevent project data from one company being visible to staff in another
- Work in multiple currencies or time zones as distinct business units
- Want to maintain separate CRM and accounting integrations per company
If your business units share users, resources, and financials without strict separation requirements, a single organization with business units or tags may be a simpler and more effective approach.
