Objective
This article explains how to use Completion Management in PSOhub to update the progress percentage of your project's contract lines, monitor work in progress (WIP), and identify whether your project is on track.
Prerequisites
✅ You have Admin, Controller, or Project Manager access with financials✅ A project exists with at least one contract line
Steps
- Open the project you want to monitor.
- Click the Financials tab.
- Click Completion Management from the sub-tabs at the top of the Financials view.
- In the Progress column, click the field for the contract line you want to update.
- Enter the completion percentage for that contract line (for example,
50). - Repeat for each contract line that has progressed.
💡 Tip: You can base progress percentages on task completion, customer sign-off, or your own assessment of delivered work. The percentage you enter is not automatically linked to task status — it reflects your judgment of actual delivery.
📌 Note: Contract lines are grouped into contract groups (for example, Services, Training, Expenses). Update the Progress field for each individual line within a group.
Result
The Progress column updates for the selected contract lines, and the WIP column recalculates automatically.
WIP (Work in Progress) represents the portion of the contract line amount that has been earned but not yet invoiced:
WIP = % Progress × Amount − Invoiced
For example, 50% progress on a $12,000 Fixed Fee contract line with no invoices raised gives a WIP of $6,000.
The Key Performance Indicators panel on the Summary tab updates to reflect:
- Completion — the weighted completion percentage across all contract lines in the project
- Actuals — the value of hours spent on the project based on logged time
📌 Note: If the Actuals value exceeds what the Completion percentage represents, the project is consuming more effort than the completed work justifies — a sign the project may be falling behind schedule.
Troubleshooting
The Completion Management sub-tab is not visible in the Financials view.
This tab is only available to Admins, Controllers, and Project Managers with access to project financials. Contact your PSOhub administrator to review your access level.
The Progress field is not editable.
Confirm you are viewing the Completion Management sub-tab within Financials, not the Contract sub-tab. The Progress field is only editable from the Completion Management view.
The KPI panel on Summary does not reflect my updates.
Refresh the page. If values still appear incorrect, confirm that the contract lines are active and that amounts are correctly configured.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does updating the Progress percentage automatically update task statuses?
No. The progress percentage in Completion Management is independent of task completion. You can update it manually regardless of whether tasks are marked as done.
Does Completion Management apply to all contract line types?
Yes. Completion Management applies to Fixed Fee, Time & Materials, and Retainer contract lines.
What is the difference between the Completion and Actuals indicators in the KPI panel? Completion shows the weighted percentage of the project marked as complete. Actuals shows the value of hours already logged. If Actuals exceed what the Completion percentage represents financially, the project is consuming more effort than delivered work justifies.
Can I update progress percentages for multiple contract lines at once?
You can update each contract line individually within the same Completion Management view. There is no bulk update option.
