Objective

This article explains how to connect ChatGPT to PSOhub using the MCP Connector. Once connected, you can ask ChatGPT questions about your PSOhub projects, hours, budgets, and invoices, as well as generate charts, reports, and dashboards in ChatGPT.

Prerequisites

The MCP connector is active on your organization.
An Admin has enabled the MCP connector for your organization.

Eligible access
You must have Admin or Controller access in PSOhub.

Plugins access in ChatGPT
You can add a custom MCP server in ChatGPT. In a company workspace, your                             workspace owner may control who can do this.

Add PSOhub as a Custom MCP Server in ChatGPT

Steps

  1. Open ChatGPT.
  2. Click Plugins.
  3. Click Add.
  4. Click Add custom MCP server.
  5. In the Name field enter PSOhub.
  6. Under Connection, check that Server URL is selected.
  7. In the Server URL field enter the MCP URL for PSOhub.
  8. Under Authentication, check that OAuth is selected.
  9. Review the notice about custom MCP servers.
  10. Select I understand and want to continue.
  11. Click Create as a plugin.

Sign In and Authorize Access

Steps

  1. On the Connect PSOhub page, review the information about permissions and data.
  2. Click on Continue to PSOhub.
  3. Sign in to PSOhub with your email and password, or click Google or Microsoft.
  4. On the Authorize Access page, check that it shows Verified as chatgpt.com.
  5. Check the account shown next to Signed in as. If the wrong account is shown, click the Switch icon next to it and sign in with the correct account.
  6. Review what ChatGPT will be able to do and what will be shared.
  7. Click Allow.

ChatGPT returns to Plugins, shows PSOhub under Installed, and confirms that your account is connected.

Check Your Connection

Steps

  1. Start a new chat in ChatGPT.
  2. Type @ in the message box.
  3. Select PSOhub from the list.
  4. Enter this prompt:
Use the PSOhub connector to check which PSOhub account I'm signed in as. Show my name and any organization and role information returned by the connector. Use the live connector response rather than previous conversation context.
    1. If ChatGPT asks for permission to use a PSOhub tool, approve the request.
    2. Check that ChatGPT shows the name, organization and role of the PSOhub account you signed in with.

    Result

ChatGPT is connected to PSOhub and can answer questions about your PSOhub data. ChatGPT can only see the data your own PSOhub account can see, and it cannot create or change anything in PSOhub.

    FAQs and Troubleshooting

Why can't ChatGPT connect to PSOhub or retrieve any data?
Check that an Admin has enabled the MCP Connector on the AI Insights tab, and that your account has Admin or Controller access.

Why can't I see the Add custom MCP server option in ChatGPT?
Your ChatGPT plan or workspace may limit who can add custom MCP servers. Ask your workspace owner, or see OpenAI's guide to custom MCP servers.

What do I do if a notice about DCR appears in the OAuth settings?
You can continue. ChatGPT uses a different registration method for PSOhub, so this notice does not affect your connection.

What do I do if the Authorize access? page shows the wrong account?
Click the switch icon next to Signed in as and sign in with the correct PSOhub account.

Why doesn't ChatGPT use PSOhub to answer my question?
Start a new chat, type @, and select PSOhub before you enter your question.

Can I change when ChatGPT asks for my approval?
Yes. In the PSOhub plugin settings, you can choose Always ask, Allow read-only tools, Allow low-risk tools, or Allow all tools. Allow low-risk tools is selected by default.

What do I do if a figure in ChatGPT's answer looks wrong?
Compare it with the same project in PSOhub. Ask ChatGPT which fields it used and how it calculated the result.
