Objective
This article explains the task views available in PSOhub and how each one helps you manage, track, and communicate about your project work.
Introduction
Every project in PSOhub includes a Tasks tab where you can view and manage your tasks, deliverables, and milestones. The Tasks tab offers five different views, each designed for a specific way of working.
You can switch between views at any time using the view tabs at the top of the Tasks tab. The views share the same underlying task data — switching views does not change your tasks, only how they are displayed.
List View
The List view is the default view when you open the Tasks tab. It displays all tasks grouped under their task list in a structured, vertical layout.
Each row shows the following information:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Task | Name of the task |
| Assigned to | Resource(s) assigned to the task |
| Start date | Planned start date |
| Due date | Planned due date |
| Effort | Estimated effort in hours |
| Used | Hours already booked on the task |
| Remaining | Remaining hours (Effort minus Used) |
| Priority | Priority level of the task |
| Milestone | Flag indicating whether the task is a milestone |
You can filter and sort tasks directly from this view using the Status, Priority, Due date, and Only Unassigned filters at the top of the task list.
💡 Tip: Use the List view as your default starting point for day-to-day task management. Filter by Status or Due date to focus on what needs attention today.
Kanban View
The Kanban view presents your tasks as cards arranged in columns, each column representing a stage in your task workflow.
This view is designed to help you visualize the flow of work and quickly identify bottlenecks or delays. By default, the board includes the following columns: To do, Work in progress, Reviewing, Done, and To Be Reviewed.
📌 Note: Custom Kanban lanes can be configured in Project Settings, allowing you to include additional or different columns depending on your work management workflow.
Each card displays the task name, project name, effort and used hours, and the due date. When a task's status changes, move the card to the relevant column to keep the board current.
💡 Tip: Use the Kanban view for stand-ups and sprint-style work. Moving cards across columns gives your team an instant read on what's in progress and what's blocked.
Timeline View
The Timeline view displays your tasks as a Gantt chart, plotted against a calendar based on each task's start and due date. Tasks are grouped under their task list.
Use this view to:
- Understand the overall schedule of your project at a glance
- Identify task dependencies and sequencing
- Spot scheduling conflicts or gaps in the plan
The Timeline view includes three display modes at the top of the chart: Baseline, Rollup, and Checklist. The table below describes the columns displayed in the task list on the left side of the chart.
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | Name of the task or task list |
| Start | Planned start date of the task |
| Finish | Planned finish (due) date of the task |
| Duration | Number of working days between the start and finish date |
| % Done | Percentage of the task marked as complete |
| Predecessors | Any task that must be completed before this task can begin |
| Successors | Any task that depends on this task being completed first |
| Constraint Type | The scheduling constraint applied to the task. Options are: None, As soon as possible, As late as possible, Must start on, Must finish on, Start no earlier than, Start no later than, Finish no earlier than, Finish no later than |
| Effort (hours) | Estimated effort in hours for the task |
| Assigned to | Resource(s) assigned to the task |
💡 Tip: Use the Timeline view when you need to present the project schedule to a client or review task dependencies before a deadline.
Grid View
The Grid view presents all tasks in a tabular, spreadsheet-style layout. This view is designed for bulk editing and fast data management across a large number of tasks.
You can edit task fields directly inline — including assignees, dates, effort estimates, and priority — without opening each task individually. Use the Edit Columns button (eye icon, top right) to customize which fields are displayed.
The table below describes all available columns in the Grid view.
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Status | Current status of the task: To do, In Progress, or Completed |
| Task | Name of the task |
| Assigned to | Resource(s) assigned to the task |
| Start date | Planned start date of the task |
| Due date | Planned due date of the task |
| Priority | Priority level: None, Low, Medium, or High |
| Description | Optional description or context added to the task |
| Task list | The task list the task belongs to |
| Created by | The user who created the task |
| Created on | Date and time the task was created |
| Last changed by | The user who last modified the task |
| Last changed on | Date and time the task was last modified |
| Assigned to BU | Business unit associated with the assigned resource |
| Assigned to role | Project role associated with the assigned resource |
| Duration | Number of working days between the start and due date |
| Effort (hours) | Estimated effort in hours for the task |
| Used (hours) | Hours already booked against the task |
| Dependency | Any task this task is dependent on |
| Milestone | Indicates whether the task has been marked as a milestone |
| Recurring task | Indicates whether the task is set to recur |
At the top of the Grid view, summary totals are displayed for Tasks, Effort, Used, Outstanding, and Overdue. Click Calculate to recalculate these totals as the project proceeds.
💡 Tip: Use the Grid view when you need to update multiple tasks at once. It's the fastest view for bulk changes to dates, assignees, or effort estimates.
Communication View
The Communication view provides a shared message feed for your project team. Use it to post updates, ask questions, and tag team members or tasks directly within the context of the project.
To tag a team member, type @ followed by their name. To reference a specific task, type # followed by the task name. Messages are visible to all project members and are stored in the project for future reference.
💡 Tip: Use the Communication view to keep project conversations in one place. Tag a task with # to link a message directly to the relevant work item.
