Objective
This article explains how to access the Kanban board in PSOhub from a project or from Tasks, how to create and configure custom lanes, and how to use the board to track task progress across your team.
Prerequisites
Eligible access to configure lanes
You must have Admin or Project Manager access in PSOhub.
Project with tasks configured
A project plan with tasks must already exist.
How to Access the Kanban Board
Steps
To open the Kanban view from within a project:
- Open the project in PSOhub.
- Click on the Tasks tab.
- Select the Kanban view.
To open the Kanban view from Tasks:
- Click Tasks in the main menu.
- Go to All Tasks.
- Under Status, select the Kanban view.
Understand the Default Lanes
By default, the Kanban board consists of three lanes. Tasks appear in the lane that matches their current status:
- Not Started — tasks not yet started
- Work In Progress — tasks currently being worked on
- Done — completed tasks
📌 Note: Do not confuse the Kanban lanes with the plan's Status filters (To do, In progress, Completed). These filters only show or hide tasks by status — they do not visualize the workflow the way the Kanban board does. The Kanban view shows you where work is piling up and which tasks are putting your project at risk.
How to Filter the View
| Filter | Description |
|---|---|
|
Status |
Filters tasks by status. Check or uncheck To do, In progress, and Completed as needed. |
| Priority | Filters tasks by priority level: None, Low, Medium, or High. |
| My Projects | When selected in All Tasks, shows all tasks belonging to projects where you are the project manager. Unchecked by default. |
| Only Unassigned | When selected, shows only unassigned tasks. |
| Due Date | Filters tasks by due date. Select a preset period or choose Custom to define a specific date range. |
How to Add Custom Lanes
Steps
- Click the Settings icon (gear icon) in the main menu.
- Select Project settings.
- Scroll to the Kanban lanes section at the bottom of the page.
- Click Add lane. The lane dialog box appears.
- Order — the position of the lane in the sequence. Lanes are displayed in numerical order.
- Name — the name of the new lane as it will appear on the board.
- Change status to (optional) — the task status that is automatically applied when a task is moved into this lane. For example, moving a task to a Review lane can automatically set its status to In progress, and moving it to Done can set it to Completed.Complete the following fields:
💡 Tip: Number your lanes in multiples of 10 (10, 20, 30) so you can insert additional lanes between existing ones later without having to renumber them all.
5. Click Save. The new lane appears on the Kanban board in the position defined by its order number.
⚠️ Important: Kanban lane settings are applied across the entire organization. If you use multiple organizations in PSOhub, each organization can configure its own Kanban lanes independently.
How to Move Tasks Between Lanes
Steps
- Drag a task card from its current lane and drop it into the appropriate lane. If a Change status to setting was configured for the destination lane, the task status updates automatically.
💡 Tip: Use the Due date filter to focus on tasks due within a specific window and quickly identify tasks that are at risk of delay.
How to Create a Task from the Kanban Board
Steps
- Click the +Add Task button in the top-right corner.
- Complete the task details and click Save. The new task appears in the appropriate lane based on its status.
Result
The Kanban view gives you and your team a real-time visual overview of task progress across all lanes. Custom lanes reflect your team's specific workflow stages. Tasks moved between lanes update their status immediately, giving everyone visibility into what is in progress, what is blocked, and what is complete — without needing a status meeting.
