Objective
This article explains how to get a quick project status for one of your projects with Claude or ChatGPT. You see hours against budget, tasks, what is overdue and the next milestone.
Prerequisites
The MCP connector is active on your organization.
An Admin has enabled the MCP connector for your organization.
Your AI assistant is connected.
Your AI assistant (Claude or ChatGPT) should be connected to PSOhub.
See How to Connect Claude to PSOhub or How to Connect ChatGPT to PSOhub.
Steps
- Copy the prompt exactly as written:
Give me a quick status of my project [PROJECT NAME or full project number, for example PRJ-2026-286]: hours used against the budgeted hours on the project, tasks done against tasks open, anything overdue, and the next milestone.
Status:
- attention: used hours are over the budgeted hours, a milestone is overdue, or the expected end date has passed
- watch: more than 80% of the budgeted hours used, or tasks overdue
- on track: everything else
If a check cannot run because the data is missing, such as no budgeted hours or no end date, skip that check and say so next to the status. Write unknown only if no check can run.
Keep it short. Start with the status, then show the facts in a two column table (item, value). Link the project and people to PSOhub. If something in the data looks off and I can correct it in PSOhub, mention it in one line at the end, without investigating it. - Replace [PROJECT NAME or full project number] with your own project
- Paste the prompt into Claude or ChatGPT and send it.
📌 Note: For every check to run, the project needs budgeted hours and an expected end date, and tasks need due dates.
Result
The status first (on track, watch or attention), then a short table with the facts. If a check cannot run because data is missing, the answer says so instead of guessing.
💡 Tip: Ask a follow-up question, for example:
- Which tasks are overdue, and who owns them?
- Who worked on this project last week?
- What would move this project to attention?
