Assigning a task to a business unit vs a resource

The difference between assigning a task to a business unit instead of a resource

Some organizations have different departments where they are collaborating in a project.

Tasks will be distributed and executed across the different departments.

In PSOhub, you can assign a task to a resource or to a department, otherwise known as a business unit.

Important: Only the security access levels Project Manager, Admin and Controller have permissions to the Task Management overview.

Choose from the main menu Plans and Task Management:

In the All Tasks List overview, navigate to the Unplanned section and select the task to be assigned to either a resource(s) or business unit:

In the open task, you can assign to a resource and/or the business unit:

When you assign a task to a business unit, that task will appear in the Unassigned column of the Tasks by Resource board, when filtered on that business unit:

This functionality will allow a traffic manager to restrict the views by business units (departments) and view only tasks to be assigned to the people within that business unit.

For example, the Design team.

If you have a traffic manager who is responsible for assigning tasks, he/she can assign them to business units before finally assigning them to resources once confirmed.
