How to Create & Manage Resource Skillsets
Learn how to set up skill categories and skills in PSOhub and link them to resource profiles

Objective
This article explains how to create resource skillsets in PSOhub — including skill categories, individual skills, and skill levels — and how to map them to user profiles so you can match the right people to the right projects.
Prerequisites
Eligible access
You must have Admin user access in PSOhub.
Create a Skill Category
⚠️ Important: Resource skillsets in PSOhub are organized by category (i.e. Digital Marketing, Programming) and level. You must create at least one skill category before adding skills.
Steps
- Click the Gear icon in the main menu to open Settings.
- Select User Management.
- Click the Skills tab.
- Click Manage categories.
- Click Add skill category.
- Enter the Skill Category Name.
- Click Save.
💡 Tip: Repeat these steps to create additional categories before adding individual skills. Having all categories in place first makes it faster to assign skills as you create them.
Create a Skill
Steps
- Click the Skills tab.
- Click Add Skill.
- In the Skill field, enter the name of the skill (for example, French or Scrum Master).
- In the Level field, select the appropriate level: Low, Medium, or High.
- In the Category list, select the category this skill belongs to.
- Click Save.
💡 Tip: Repeat these steps to build out your full skill library. Skills can be added to user profiles at any time.
Modify or Delete a Skill or Skill Category
Steps
- Click the Gear icon in the main menu to open Settings.
- Go to User Management.
- To modify a skill, click the Skills tab and select the skill you want to edit.
- Update the Skill name, Level or Category as needed.
- Click Save or click Delete to delete the skill from PSOhub.
📌 Note: You can update the name, level, or category of any existing skill at any time. Users mapped to a modified skill are automatically updated in the Resources module.
To Modify or Delete a Skill Category
- Click the Skills tab.
- Click Manage categories.
- Click on the skill category you want to modify.
- Update the category name.
- Click Save or click Delete to delete the skill category from PSOhub.
📌 Note: Skill categories can only be deleted if they have no skills associated with them. If the category is linked to active skills, a message will appear preventing the deletion. Remove or rename the associated skills first.
Result
Your skill categories and skills are created and available across PSOhub. These skills can now be added to individual resource profiles in Resources > Resources, allowing you to filter and match resources by skill when planning and staffing projects.
