Approval by Team Lead: How to Review and Approve Hours

Objective
This article explains how to use the Hours Approval workflow in PSOhub to approve, auto-approve, and reject time entries as a team lead. Team lead approval is the second and final approval stage before time entries are ready for invoicing.
Prerequisites
You must have Admin or Controller access in PSOhub.
You must be assigned as Team Lead for your business unit.
Approval By Team Lead must be enabled for your business unit.
Resources in your business unit should have at least one time entry submitted for approval.
Access Approval By Team Lead
Steps
- Navigate to Time & Expenses and select Approval By Team Lead.
- Select a resource from the dropdown list to view their time entries for the selected week.
- The Week drop-down defaults to the previous week's date range. To view entries from other weeks, open the drop-down and select one or more weeks.
📌 Note: Project manager approval must be completed before team lead approval is possible. Entries not yet approved by the project manager are marked in red and cannot be selected. The resource's project manager must approve these entries first.
Manually Approve Hours
Use manual approval to review and approve individual time entries individually.
Steps
- Select the check boxes next to the time entries you want to approve.
- Click Approve.
📌 Note: Once a team lead approves a time entry, the record is locked and can only be modified by a user with Admin or Controller access.
Auto-Approve Hours
Use auto-approve to approve all in-budget time entries for the selected period at once, without reviewing each entry individually. This is useful when you are confident that entries are accurate and within budget.
Steps
- Click Auto Approve.
- A confirmation message will appear. Click Proceed. The approved entries disappear from the view.
Reject Time Entries
You can reject any time entry that has been submitted for approval. The resource will be notified by email and can correct and re-submit the time entry.
Steps
- Find the relevant time entry you'd like to send back to the resource for re-submission.
- Click Reject next to the time entry
- The Approval Reject Hours window appears. Select the reason for rejection.
- Click Send.
The rejected entry remains visible in the approval list with the reason displayed. The resource receives an email notification with a link to the time entry. They can open the entry, view the rejection reason in the Status tab, correct it in the General tab, and click Save to resubmit.
Approval Filters
Use the filters at the top of the Hours Approval list to narrow your view:

| All incomplete weeks | Displays time entries where budgeted hours are incomplete |
| Include approved hours | Displays hours already approved and awaiting invoicing |
| My team | Displays hours for resources in your business unit team |
| Business Unit | Allows admins and controllers to approve hours for any business unit |
Result
Time entries approved by both the project manager and team lead are locked and marked as ready for invoicing. Rejected entries are returned to the resource with a reason, and the resource can correct and resubmit them.
