Objectives
This article explains how to check your planning accuracy with Claude or ChatGPT. You see who and what is planned too high or too low, and whether you plan more than happens or less.
Prerequisites
The MCP connector is active on your organization.
An Admin has enabled the MCP connector for your organization.
Your AI assistant is connected.
Your AI assistant (Claude or ChatGPT) should be connected to PSOhub.
See How to Connect Claude to PSOhub or How to Connect ChatGPT to PSOhub.
Steps
-
Copy the prompt exactly as written:
- How good is our planning? Compare planned hours with booked hours over the last [6] months.
Per person: planned against booked, the difference in percent, and whether they are planned too high, too low, or just unevenly. Per project: planned against booked, work booked that was never planned, and planning that was never booked.
Give our overall direction in one number: do we plan more than happens, or less? End with the three people or projects where plan and reality are furthest apart.
Show this as a dashboard: a header with the scope and date, a one-line verdict with three to five key figures, the findings ranked worst first with the reason and the amount, a table with the rest, what this answer could not see, and three actions with an owner. Use a single HTML page if you can show one, otherwise the same blocks as formatted text. Link every project, customer, person and invoice to PSOhub. - Optional: change [6] to any number of months.
- Paste the prompt into Claude or ChatGPT and send it.
📌 Note: People need planning and booked hours over the period. Run Recipe: Is our planning ready for deeper analysis? first.
Result
You get a dashboard with planned against booked hours per person and per project, and your overall direction in one number. It ends with the three biggest gaps between plan and reality.
💡 Tip: Ask a follow-up question, for example:
- Split this by project type.
- Is it getting better or worse over the year?
- Show the same per project manager.
