Product Category: How to Create & Manage Product Categories in PSOhub

How can an Admin access level user create a product category to group products and services?

Objective

This article explains how to create, rename, and delete product categories in PSOhub. Product categories help you organize your products into logical groups, making them easier to manage in price lists and easier to select when building quotes and projects.

Prerequisites

You must have Admin access in PSOhub.

Create a Product Category

  1. Navigate to Settings (gear icon). 
  2. Click Products.
  3. Select the Product Categories tab. 
  4. Click Create category. The Product category dialog opens.
  5. Enter a Name for the category.
  6. Click Save. 

The new category appears in the Product Categories list and is immediately available to assign to products.

Rename a Product Category

  1. Navigate to Settings (gear icon) > Products > Product Categories.
  2. Click the category you want to rename. The Product category dialog opens with the current name.
  3. Update the Name field.
  4. Click Save.

The updated name is applied immediately and reflected wherever the category is used.

Delete a Product Category 

 ⚠️ Important: Before deleting a category, ensure no active products are assigned to it. If           products are still linked to the category, reassign them to another category before                   proceeding. 

  1. Navigate to Settings (gear icon) > Products > Product Categories.
  2. Click the category you want to delete. The Product category dialog opens.
  3. Click Delete.A Confirmation dialog appears asking: Are you sure you want to delete this?
  4. Click OK.

The category is removed from the list.

Result

Product categories you create are available when adding or editing products. Assigning a category to a product ensures it is correctly grouped within your price lists and easy to find when building quotes and projects.
