Objective
Understand what products and price lists are in PSOhub, how they relate to each other, and how they support accurate quoting, project delivery, and invoicing across your organization.
Introduction
In PSOhub, products and price lists are the foundation for managing the items and services your organization sells. Together, they ensure that pricing is consistent and accurate across every quote, project, and invoice you create.
Products and price lists are configured in Settings > Products and are available for use throughout the platform — from building quotes to invoicing contract lines and managing recurring billing.
What is a Product?
A product in PSOhub represents any item or service your organization sells or delivers. Each product has a unique SKU, a name, a description, and pricing information including a selling price, cost price, and margin.
Products can represent a wide range of billable items: consultancy services, software licenses, hardware, subscriptions, or any other deliverable your team works with.
Once created, products can be added to price lists, linked to contract lines in projects, and used in quotes and invoices.
What is a Price List?
A price list is a collection of products with defined pricing. Price lists allow you to apply different pricing to different customers, regions, or business scenarios — without changing the underlying product record.
For example, you might maintain one price list for standard customers and a separate price list with discounted rates for enterprise accounts.
Price lists are assigned at the contract line level within a project or quote, giving you precise control over which pricing applies to each engagement.
Product Categories
Products can be organized into product categories to make them easier to manage and filter. Categories help structure your product library, especially as it grows, and support consistent reporting across projects and invoices.
How Products and Price Lists Connect to the Rest of PSOhub
Products and price lists are used across three key areas of PSOhub:
Quotes: When building a quote, you can add a product contract line and select a product from a price list. The pricing from the price list is applied automatically, ensuring consistency between what is quoted and what is later invoiced.
Projects: Projects can include product contract lines linked to a price list. This is the basis for one-time product invoicing, usage-based billing, or recurring product invoicing — depending on how the contract line is configured.
Invoicing: When an invoice is generated for a product contract line, PSOhub uses the product and price list information to populate the invoice correctly. Products can be invoiced manually for one-time or usage-based scenarios, or automatically on a recurring schedule.
Import and synchronization
If your organization uses SAP Business One, products can be imported directly from SAP and kept synchronized with PSOhub. You can also import products in bulk from an Excel file, which is useful for initial setup or large-scale product updates.
